Preview tools v0.1.3

Garry's Mod server manager

Run Garry's Mod on your own PC or a rented server: SteamCMD installs and updates on the public or 64-bit branch, Workshop addons that every player downloads without you writing a line of Lua, a backdoor check of every addon before players join, bans that go to ULX and to all your servers, TTT's settings and DarkRP's files in one place, and a restart when an addon freezes the server — in the same free app as your other games.

The Garry's Mod tools are a preview: built and tested against stand-in servers, not yet on a real one. Back up first, and expect fixes after the first live use.

What RCON Hub does for Garry's Mod servers

Workshop addons players actually get

Paste a Workshop link or a whole collection: the server downloads them at every start, and RCON Hub writes the resource.AddWorkshop file so players download them too when they join. Removed or private items are caught before they break the start, and versions can be pinned.

A backdoor check of every addon

Leaked and re-uploaded addons often hide code that hands someone superadmin. Every addon the server downloads is checked outside the game for the usual tricks, with the file and line of each finding, before players join. Nothing is changed: you decide.

Bans that reach ULX and all your servers

A ban from RCON Hub goes to ULX when it's installed, or to the server's own list, and to every Garry's Mod server you run; ULX's and FAdmin's own ban lists show next to it.

Kill feed and chat, live

The free RCON Hub Bridge addon writes kills with weapon, distance and headshots, hits, TTT rounds and DarkRP arrests into the server's log: chat, kills and joins on player profiles, the leaderboard and Discord, with no paid relay addon.

TTT and DarkRP from one page

Pick a game mode and its Workshop item is added for you; TTT's and Sandbox's settings have plain labels, and DarkRP's jobs, shipments and settings files open in an editor that keeps the old file on every save.

Restarts when an addon freezes the server

An addon stuck in a loop freezes the server without it crashing. When the server stops answering for a while, RCON Hub ends it and starts it again, and tells you.

Under the hood

How RCON Hub connects to Garry's Mod

Garry's Mod speaks Source RCON on its game port. RCON Hub keeps one steady connection per server. Joins and chat arrive live over the server's UDP log; kills, hits and TTT rounds come from the RCON Hub Bridge, a one-file Lua addon that writes them into that same log (Garry's Mod doesn't log kills itself).

Bans

Banning players on Garry's Mod

Ban in all games

RCON Hub can ban one person on every server of every game you run, from one page. Here's how that ban reaches Garry's Mod: Bans go to ULX when it's installed (ulx banid), otherwise to the server's own list (banid and writeid), by Steam64, and are shared across your Garry's Mod servers. A timed ban is sent again after every restart, and a banned player who joins anyway is kicked.

ClanStop global bans (Fair-Fight)

On servers where you turn it on, a clear cheat confirmed by ClanStop keeps a player off every server that enforces global bans. A match kicks the player from that server right away; only ClanStop can make a ban global, after re-checking the evidence. How global bans work. How to set it up, step by step (English guide).

There are no Garry's Mod-specific ClanStop global rules yet; your own fair-play warnings use the bridge's kill lines (melee reach, precision-weapon headshot and fire rates).

Garry's Mod server manager FAQ

Do I need any addons?

Only the RCON Hub Bridge, which RCON Hub puts on the server for you: Garry's Mod logs joins and chat but not kills. It's one Lua file, makes no network calls of its own and changes nothing in game. Everything else works without addons.

Does it replace ULX?

No. ULX stays your in-game admin mod; RCON Hub hands its bans to ULX and shows ULX's ban list, so both agree.

Will the backdoor check delete my addons?

Never. It only reports what it finds, with the file and line. Paid addons with DRM fetch and run code on purpose, so the decision is yours.

Can players get the Workshop content without a FastDL server?

Yes. Players download Workshop items straight from Steam; RCON Hub writes the resource.AddWorkshop lines that tell their game which ones.

Is the Garry's Mod server manager ready?

It's a preview: its tools have been built and tested against stand-in servers, not yet on a real Garry's Mod server. Expect some log lines or settings to need fixes after the first live use, and back up first.

Where can I get help with the Garry's Mod server manager?

Ask on ClanStop's Discord. Server owners and the RCON Hub team answer setup questions, bug reports and game requests there. The link is in the menu and at the bottom of every page.
