Automatic world backups
A world is backed up after the game saves it, once it has stayed unchanged for a minute; the newest 20 automatic backups are kept, yours until you delete them.
Keep your Grounded 2 worlds safe with automatic backups — no server needed — and, if you want one, run an always-on server with Lantern: players, chat, snapshots, restarts and Discord.
The Grounded 2 tools are a preview: built and tested against stand-in servers, not yet on a real one. Back up first, and expect fixes after the first live use.

Grounded 2 has no dedicated server and no admin API of its own. The always-on server here is Lantern, a free community project; RCON Hub drives it through Lantern's own API and never changes the game itself. World backups need no server at all.
RCON Hub can ban one person on every server of every game you run, from one page. Here's how that ban reaches Grounded 2: Not possible on Grounded 2: LanternServer has no kick, ban or allowlist and only knows players by name, so every Grounded 2 server answers "not possible" with that reason.
On servers where you turn it on, a clear cheat confirmed by ClanStop keeps a player off every server that enforces global bans. A match kicks the player from that server right away; only ClanStop can make a ban global, after re-checking the evidence. How global bans work. How to set it up, step by step (English guide).
No global rules: the server doesn't log positions, combat or progression.
Step-by-step fixes for the problems Grounded 2 server owners hit most.
Not an official one. RCON Hub can run Lantern, a free community server (MIT licensed, not made by Obsidian), and drives it as it is.
No. World backups work for everyone, from Steam's Saved Games folder; Game Pass worlds can be backed up too.
No. LanternServer has no kick, ban or allowlist and only knows players by name. To keep someone out, change the join key on the Server tab.
If RCON Hub backed it up, "Put it back" returns it to the folder it came from, and the guide covers Shared Worlds that lost access.
Add Grounded 2 in RCON Hub. A world is backed up after the game saves it, once it has stayed unchanged for a minute. The newest 20 automatic backups are kept, and yours stay until you delete them. Steam and Game Pass worlds both work.
Yes. RCON Hub's Grounded 2 tool is free for Windows. It sets up Lantern, a free community server, and gives you start and stop, players, chat, snapshots and Discord. It has been tested against stand-ins so far, not yet with the real game.
It's a preview: its tools have been built and tested against stand-in servers, not yet on a real Grounded 2 server. Expect some log lines or settings to need fixes after the first live use, and back up first.
