A free RCON tool and game server manager for Windows

RCON Hub is a free, signed Windows app for running game servers: a console for every game's RCON, plus everything RCON can't do — mods, backups, wipes, bans across servers and games — with one sign-in for your whole team.

What an RCON tool does — and where RCON stops

RCON, short for remote console, is how a game server lets its admins in from outside the game: list who's online, kick and ban, message everyone, save and restart. Every game does it its own way, from Source RCON in ARK, Project Zomboid, Counter-Strike 2 and Team Fortress 2 to BattlEye RCon in DayZ, WebRCON in Rust, telnet in 7 Days to Die and a REST API in Palworld. Valheim has none at all.

RCON only sends commands. It can't install a mod, change a settings file, take a backup or wipe a map. That's why RCON Hub pairs each game's console with its files — on your PC, or on a rented server through Nitrado or FTP — and why it handles games without RCON through their logs and files.

A server manager for each game

Every game gets its own tools inside RCON Hub, built around what that game's server owners actually deal with.

Why one hub instead of a tool per game

  • One sign-in, per-game accessGive each person a role per game and per server from one People page.
  • Ban in all gamesBan one Steam64 id on every server of every game at once, and see how it went in each.
  • Flags from every gameFair-fight flags, triggers, cheat signals and reports in one table.
  • Rented serversNitrado, Pterodactyl panels like BisectHosting, or any host with FTP or SFTP, with the same screens as a server on your PC.
  • Player profiles and leaderboardsModeration history, notes, watch list, seasons and per-wipe boards.
  • ClanStop sharingList your server and share player data — off until you turn it on.
  • Your languageEvery screen in 12 languages, and Discord posts in your community's language. What players read in game stays English.

RCON tool FAQ

What is RCON?

RCON (remote console) lets a server's admins send console commands to a game server over the network: list players, kick, ban, message everyone, save or restart. Each game does it a little differently — Source RCON, BattlEye RCon, Rust's WebRCON, telnet or a REST API.

Which games does RCON Hub support?

Rust, 7 Days to Die, DayZ, ARK: Survival Ascended, ARK: Survival Evolved, Counter-Strike 2, Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, s&box, Project Zomboid, Valheim, Palworld, Grounded 2 and WARDOGS. Garry's Mod and Grounded 2 are still previews.

What is an RCON tool?

An RCON tool (or RCON client) connects to a game server's remote console so you can run admin commands without being in game. RCON Hub is one for many games at once, and it also handles what RCON can't reach, like the server's files.

What can RCON Hub do that a plain RCON client can't?

RCON only sends commands and reads answers. RCON Hub also works with the server's files — mods and plugins, the settings editor, backups and wipes — and adds things across servers and games: one sign-in with per-game access, shared bans, Ban in all games, flags from every game and player profiles.

Is RCON safe to use?

RCON passwords and host logins are stored encrypted on your PC and never shown again. On a server on your own PC, games like 7 Days to Die and DayZ get a new console password at every start and keep the console closed to the internet. Telnet is plain text, so for rented 7 Days to Die servers the Web API is the better choice.

Is RCON Hub free?

Yes. RCON Hub is free for Windows 10 and 11, published by ClanStop, and the app and every game tool are digitally signed. It's beta software, so back up your server's settings and world before changing anything.

Does it work with rented servers?

Yes, for most games: Nitrado with a long-life token, a Pterodactyl panel (BisectHosting and others) with its API key, or any host with FTP, plus the game's own RCON or API. DayZ and ARK also work with Nitrado's Xbox and PlayStation servers, with what those servers allow. Rented servers have been tested on real hosts: 7 Days to Die on Nitrado (console, restart, bans, backups, settings, wipes and mods) and Project Zomboid's RCON on BisectHosting. Other games on rented servers are still a preview.

Is RCON Hub a BattleMetrics alternative?

For many jobs, yes, but it works differently. RCON Hub is a free app that runs on your own PC, not a hosted service. The Rust tool has triggers like BattleMetrics', each one read as a plain sentence, and WARDOGS can import BattleMetrics ban list exports.

Can my admins use it without knowing the RCON password?

Yes. Each person signs in to RCON Hub and gets a role per game and per server. RCON passwords and host logins are stored encrypted and never shown on the screens again.
