What RCON Hub does for Team Fortress 2 servers

A SourceMod plugin manager

Metamod and SourceMod with a curated catalogue (StAC, TF2 Competitive Fixes, logs.tf, demos.tf, MGE, Dodgeball…) or any GitHub link, installed with what they need. Every change is backed up, every start ends with a check of what loaded and why something didn't, and “Start without plugins” is one click.

Modes in one click

Casual, Mann vs. Machine, 6s, Highlander, arena and community modes like MGE, jump, surf and dodgeball: each preset sets its settings in server.cfg, a fitting start map and player count, and offers the plugins it needs.

FastDL for custom maps

Custom maps are compressed and served from your PC (or a folder for your own web host), and the server's download address is set for you, so players get a new map in seconds instead of minutes.

Competitive matches

Install a league's configs, load one in tournament mode with team names, and get the result with its logs.tf and demos.tf links. A config that expects plugins you don't have says which.

Live chat and kill feed

Chat, team chat, kills with weapon and distance, assists, captures and round results, live from the server's log (on a rented server, from its log files over its file access); kills, deaths and assists on player profiles and the leaderboard.

Workshop maps and map cycles

Workshop maps by link, a whole Workshop collection as a map cycle, and map cycles you can change while the server runs. On a rented server with file access, the Plugins page, the cfg editor, map cycles (through mapcyclefile in server.cfg) and mode settings work too; matches, demos and FastDL stay for servers on your PC.

Discord, in your language

News, moderation posts, a daily summary and the bot's replies. Every screen, and the Discord posts, can be in one of 12 languages; what players read in game stays English.

Under the hood

How RCON Hub connects to Team Fortress 2

TF2 speaks Source RCON on its game port. RCON Hub keeps one steady connection per server. Chat, kills and joins arrive live over the server's UDP log (logaddress_add with a secret), sent to the PC's network address, where the server listens; the console log is the fallback.

Bans

Banning players on Team Fortress 2

Ban in all games

RCON Hub can ban one person on every server of every game you run, from one page. Here's how that ban reaches Team Fortress 2: Bans go on the server's own list (banid and writeid) by Steam64, and are shared across your TF2 servers. A timed ban is sent to the server again after every restart, and a banned player who joins anyway is kicked.

ClanStop global bans (Fair-Fight)

On servers where you turn it on, a clear cheat confirmed by ClanStop keeps a player off every server that enforces global bans. A match kicks the player from that server right away; only ClanStop can make a ban global, after re-checking the evidence. How global bans work. How to set it up, step by step (English guide).

There are no TF2-specific ClanStop global rules yet; your own fair-play warnings use the kill lines' weapons, distances and positions (melee, backstab and flame reach, sniper headshot and fire rates).

Team Fortress 2 server manager FAQ

Do I need plugins?

No. Players, chat, kills, kicks, bans, maps, modes, FastDL, backups and automation work on a vanilla server. The plugin manager is there when you want SourceMod plugins like StAC or MGE.

Will a TF2 update break my plugins?

Rarely for long: SourceMod updates its own gamedata after most TF2 updates. RCON Hub checks what loaded after every start, says why something didn't, and can start the server without plugins until fixed builds are out.

Are unusual or item changer plugins supported?

No. Plugins that give players items they don't own (unusual effects, Australiums, war paints, killstreaks) break Valve's server guidelines and get the server's login token banned, so RCON Hub refuses them.

Can I run Mann vs. Machine?

Yes: the MvM preset sets 32 slots for the robots, a Mann vs. Machine map and lets a wave start with fewer than six players.

Is the Team Fortress 2 server manager ready?

Yes. Its tools have been tested on a real Team Fortress 2 server. Adding a rented server (Nitrado, a Pterodactyl panel or FTP) is still marked Preview until it has been fully tried on a real host. RCON Hub is beta software, so back up before big changes.

Where can I get help with the Team Fortress 2 server manager?

Ask on ClanStop's Discord. Server owners and the RCON Hub team answer setup questions, bug reports and game requests there. The link is in the menu and at the bottom of every page.

Questions or problems?

Ask on ClanStop's Discord: support, ideas, game requests and ban appeals.
